# License activation error: \`Error: \[Errno 86\] Bad CPU type in executable: 'amplkey'\`

When I want to activate the license on my mac mini (`m4`), it gives the error:

```auto
python -m amplpy.modules activate "my_uuid"
$ amplkey activate --uuid "my_uuid"
Error: [Errno 86] Bad CPU type in executable: 'amplkey'

```

Does ampl not support `m4` cpu? Because I succeeded on my `m2` macbook pro.

Hi @Cero,

Thank you for reporting this issue. As a workaround, could you please try installing rosetta with `softwareupdate --install-rosetta` and try again?

Hi @Cero,

We have updated amplkey in recent versions of AMPL and rosetta is not needed anymore as it runs natively on Apple Silicon hardware. You can upgrade your AMPL module to the latest versions as follows:

```auto
$ python -m amplpy.modules install --upgrade

```
